Erudio took over the student loans from 1990- 1998 from SLC.
They are a separate company.
You appear to have made repayments to SLC but not to Erudio for the earlier loan.
It looks like you did not advise Erudio of your change of address so they have not been able to contact you until now.
Interest will have accumulated over the years on the outstanding amount.
Erudio have passed the outstanding debt to Drydens , who are a debt collection agency.

dryden are run by arrow global as is Erudio.
they told me i had arrear when they took over my account just under 3 months before it would be written off. by doing this it could not close. they refused to tell me the arrears amount and they demanded and unknown amount each month for an unknown length of time until they could just demand the whole amount. i have been complaining ever since they too over. every company they use are all part of the Arrow global. and they took me to county court were they lied to a judge to get the case in there favour.1 -
I have an old style student loan that I took out in 1996 with the original Student Loans Company. Recently I had a letter from Drydensfairfax to say the £3307.88 debt was being passed for County Court action. I believed I had not made a payment nor corresponded in nearly 8 years so thought the debt was Statute Barred. I submitted the Statute Barred defence and received a letter from the court to say the complaint was on hold while Drysden investigated this. I then received a letter from Drysden stating this had been passed to Erudio and was on hold while my claim was investigated. However I have just found out that I did setup a Standing Order of £25 a month at some point but stopped that in July 2017.
Yesterday I contacted Erudio to discuss clearing the debt or setting up a repayment plan but was told the issue is now with Drysden so I would have to speak to them. When I finally got to speak to Drysden on a very bad line, I offered to re-establish a standing order for £25 a month (as my wages have not increased since I previously had the same offer accepted) or I could make a lower one off payment to clear the debt of £1500 but wanted it in writing that the debt would be written off and not affect my Credit Record which is currently excellent. Drysden did not give me the opportunity to make either a lower one off final payment nor setup a new repayment plan, instead insisting I contacted the Court and changed my defence. I am now not sure what my position is? I am over 50 but due to defaulting on the debt because I didn't continue to defer my payment, I believe my age doesn't write the debt off. I am desperate not to get a CCJ against my credit record but I am unable to make a full payment of the debt. So I am stuck, I am unable to setup a repayment plan or make a single final payment near to 50% of the debt owed. Any advice would be appreciated.0
