18185 call override provider

Hi
Does anyone use 18185 ?
I am getting an engaged tone each time I try using 18185 now . Just called the Customer Service number on their website but the agent said they do not deal with 18185 any more and I should use the email support on the website.
Are they in financial trouble ,or does anyone use a similar override service ??

Many thanks

Some providers block these.  Who are you with?

I use them with another landline provider, and I've just checked and it's still working for me. It was working fine on Monday too.

Ok thanks, so I wonder if it’s a policy change at Plusnet

I'm assuming you're using the 08 access code? Do you get the engaged tone at that point? Or does it let you through there, dial a number, but then whatever number you try always give engaged?
Did you try sending 18185 a message? What did they say?
Their website says it works with "all non-BT landlines" so it should still work..  https://www.18185.co.uk/rates-mobile

I was using the 18185xxxxx on my landline to UK numbers ,and the tone began as soon as I had pressed the 5.
Just heard back from customer support and they claim they had a temporary outage yesterday and it is indeed working again now . I believe it has been intermittent over the past week though!
    thanks
  • I made 3 or 4 calls to the same number on Sunday using 18185. Every time after 2 or 3 minutes the call got disconnected.
I never have had this problem before but assumed there must have been a problem with their system at the time.
