Your credit files will just show a search.0

All other lenders will see is a search is done, the decision made by the lender based on the search data isnt recorded at the CRA.
In most circumstances you'd expect to see a new credit account appear after 2-3 months if the application was successful and so it could be implied that it was unsuccessful if a new account doesn't appear but that would be a fairly big assumption that would also capture certain credit providers that don't report to credit reference agencies or people who are offered but decline for whatever reason.0 -
A hard search every few months is nothing to worry about - any effect will be minimal, and even more so as time goes on.0

In terms of your credit history - an isolated search amongst a well kept credit file will have minimal impact. If however you applied for 12 credit cards to the stage of acceptance, and then declined, while having multiple payday loans going on in the background, missed payments left, right and centre - then that would paint an altogether different picture.0
