I currently have a double glazed conservatory which is over 20 years old. All of the windows are blown. Therefore they are no longer efficient.
According to what I have just read you cannot replace double glazing if you already have it. I assume this will include blown double glazing windows as well.
Your thoughts please

Thats a maintenance problem - not a reason to get a grant IMO

Perhaps not a conservatory but interesting point tho' - the grants are to make UK homes more energy efficient. There must be 0000s of houses originally fitted with "double glazing" 30 or more years ago, which has subsequently failed or wasn't very efficient in the first place. If the owners are now pensioners it's quite possible that they aren't financially able to repair or replace. Shouldn't they be included ?

This government doesn't have a great track record of doing things just because they 'should'.

You only get the grant for double glazing if you get the basics first ie loft insulation, cavity wall, under floor, roof . And low carbon  products If you have these you can top up what you have got. And only then can you get the rest. And you only get the same amount of money you have  used on the primary insulation. to use on double glazing . Not easy like the goverment has  lead us to believe.

And I understand the grants don't include things like solar PV.  Wish they did.
