nanny your food sounds delicious can you put a few portions aside for me
TA yes the spa is throughly renovated and ready for guests when the sun comes out
Ruby Im OK lovely just nothing of any interest to report!
Weather not bad today bit grey but still warm.
Doing quite well with the freezer clear out. Eating what I have rather than buying new which is a bit of a novelty for me being a natural food hoarder. This week has been liver, chilli and pulled beef and will probably be the same next week. Tonight is a bacon pasta and garlic baguette to use up some fridge stuff.
Starting my new volunteer role this afternoon which will be something different
Have a good day all13 -
Afternoon all,
Heavy rain earlier, stopped now and supposed to be sunny later on, might have a visit from DD4 and family in the afternoon......might have a sneaky nap soon just in case.
Mushy spuds!! I am very picky about spuds, consider Roosters tombs the best all- rounder, but at this time of the year there is nothing to match British Queens for flavour and texture.
Have a good day and stay safe.

Nanny, your food sounds lovely! I love fish pie, spag bog and shepherds/cottage pies! I think I'm just too lazy to cook them. And congrats on the weight loss! ...Monna, I think I would like to live there, with all of the mediterranean easy to get to and the weather...I'd love to spend a year in Itay just to grow some veg because when my cousin sends photos of hers [ tomatoes , aubergines, peppers outside!!] I weep a little bit....And it's not really resourcefullness, it's the result of having a father who was the God of DIY so he helped me by showing me there's nothing really I can't do DIY wise without the right tools and the know how and the desire - Plus he wouldn't have paid anyone to do little jobs around the house, it just wasn't in his make up therefore, having absorbed those lessons, not in mine either...Youtube provides the know how most of the time...Just wait anyway...I have a covered pergola with side and front curtains to make in readiness for lockdown winter outsideAnd the blue and yellow shed was very well organised, all going one way, booking for food [ we didn't have any] and sanitisers everywhere and trolley sanitiser wipes and liquid available and nearly everyone wearing masks and doing social distancing. I bought what I wanted except for the billy bookcase doors, they didn't have any I liked, they were all quite plain. I did however cave and buy a couple of pretties, one solar light shaped like a carry lamp and a couple of beach towels with palm trees and cars on them...Oops....And when I went to Ohs mums house she gave me plum jam and I gave her banana bread..a good swap was hadRight, off to watch rubbish and nap now, I'm knackered! And woop woop Nelski! Good luck, don't break legs!Non me fac calcitrare tuum culi11

I wish you would all stop talking food. It's making me hungry! I got some prawns out to defrost for tea. I fancied a jacket spud as not had one in ages and narrowed the filling down to prawns in a nice sauce with a big salad.
TAFF we once stayed in a tiny villa in the grounds of a big villa on the shores of Lake Garda (Salo) . The lovely owner said just help yourself to any of the produce in the garden as we won't need it all. Oh I was in heaven!! I can recall the taste of those tomatoes even now. And the basil plant was something else, it was huge like a bush! And at night it was like fairyland with all the fireflies dancing around. (I didn't like the big flying insects though! I used to sit with a big towel over me so they didn't get stuck in my hair!)
I have been doing a bit of gardening in the back and my painful legs are having a well earned rest. I got rid of the dying annuals and replaced with the new perennials. Then did a shuffle around with all the pots to make sure the nicer ones were in full view. Then I gave the whole lot a good hosing and - guess what! It's now started to rain. Grr I hate wasting water since I went on the meter!

TA sorry about all the food talk, mea culpaWell that lot took about 5hrs........ Oh why did I start that much ? All done now and I also made a fruit crumble using up some sad apples, a few dry apricots, which were supposed to be juicy and I also added some frozen summer fruits. I thought it was sweet enough but then I don't take sugar, Mr Fix It had to add more sweetener to his. I shall ring Dad later to let him know I'll be delivering tomorrow morning and then I'm done for the day. Right I'm off to have a lie down in a darkened roomlove nan xxFailure is simply the opportunity to begin again, but this time more intelligently11
