Financial probity check

I’m a us citizen living in the uk. I’ve just revived a job offer at a larger bank. Security watchdog who is doing my background screening asked for my ssn in order to conduct an international probity check. Any idea what this entails? Thanks!

I’ve seen this one but I’m confused as to what information they can see when doing this check internationally because I’m from the US. Is it the same information? I’ve looked everywhere but never heard of an international check.

It means they will check credit history wherever you have it. It will be different across countries.
For example, you may have a CCJ in the UK for a parking ticket, and a judgement in the US for non payment of a cow tipping fine, or whatever.0
