HSBC late payment?

I have a credit card with HSBC. Card stolen last week and cancelled. New card received yesterday but no Direct Debit taken yesterday as it normally would be. When I listen to telephone banking it says received but nothing has gone from my Halifax Account.
Will this go as late payment?
