@MinuteNoodles, if anyone wants a VOIP service with TalkTalk FTTP, then they will have to find a third-party provider.

PlusNet tell me the broadband has been sorted. MIL says it's still flaky. Either way it's transferring to BT FTTP in a few weeks.

The transfer to FTTP didn't go that well. It was installed the Thursday before bank holiday and didn't work. Apparently she was the first FTTP customer in her neighbourhood and a contractor had not wired up the SASA correctly. It's taken a week to get that sorted, but her internet is back now.

The bill switching was a shambles as well. PlusNet emailed about the phone ahead of the switch saying that it would be switched and cancelled automatically. That part was handled correctly. After the FTTP installation they emailed saying that the broadband would be switched and cancelled mid-September, then they continued billing until they were chased. It is now being cancelled, but the latest bill charges for broadband up to 21st November. It doesn't mention cancellation or termination charges, but the portal says service is being cancelled, so I am guessing another final bill will be issued.0
