53 Aliases, 12 years old. How is this allowed from Experian?

I’m not trying to hide from anything, my credit score is excellent. When checking my report I noticed 53 aliases. This concerned me as I have been married nearly 12 years. Not one of my accounts listed, new or old, settled or active were ever under my old name. All of my accounts have been open since marriage. Also the ‘alias’ is being reported by Experian themselves, not any financial institution. They haven’t just done it once though, they have done it 53 times!
How is this relevant to my credit file and finances and how many times does it need to be reported. Looking at my report, you’d think (according to Experian) this is a regular alias I have used over the recent past (multiple times) and that’s just not true! I want to go for a mortgage and whether it impacts it or not, I don’t see how Experian are allowed to keep spamming my file with incorrect data! No other credit file does this!

I have, are you usually so polite and helpful to new forum posters? When I googled it I saw lots of similar posts to mine and wondered if anyone had answers.
Thanks for being so helpful though and not at all rude.0 -

Although I must admit I really don't see what the problem is here.0 -
So they shouldn’t be on there then. They aren’t active. That’s the issue. For some reason Experian are reporting that this a a current alias, which it isn’t and isn’t linked to any financial institution on my file. Not only that, it is reporting I’ve used this alias 53 times in the past few years. It’s coming from them, no one else. That’s the problem.
For all the people who just want to be rude to a new poster. I’ve reported you all as no, the exact answer wasn’t found. So off you pop.
To the one person who tried to help, thanks!0 -

If it's names you've never ever gone by, then that is more worrying.
If it's your maiden name repeated 53 times then it's a bit weird, but it won't look to anyone like you're doing anything wrong.1 -
It’s my maiden name. But it’s not been used as an alias for 12 years so the reasons they give in that link don’t match my circumstances. They are reporting my alias so frequently that is is still showing as an active alias, which has been linked no less than 53 times in a few years. That’s what is bothering me as one it’s not accurate, two it has created a ridiculous amount of recent alias links all owned by Experian themselves, plus according to their own reasons there is no reason for them to be constantly reporting this alias. Thanks for the link. I’ll see what they say, it’s just a bit weird they keep reporting this alias when no other institution is, it’s 12 years out of date and is directly coming from them.

All I can see is that they say they include previous names to help prevent fraud.0 -
I've reverted to my original name, but still have quite a lot of 'aliases' shown in my married name. They are all accounts that I had, so I'm not really concerned about it, it's just fact: I had those accounts under that name. So I'd check to make sure the accounts are all yours, and so long as they are then it's just facts reported, as they should be.
My divorce was probably 15+ years ago, but it remains a fact that I was known by that name - it shows the dates, so you should see that it is a past occurrence being shown.1
