If I don’t re-apply for my job, am I resigning?

As already mentioned, admirable maybe but not very sensible surely, unless (and I do get the feeling), that you might be reasonably happy on the dole if you can claim it (apologies if I'm wrong)I can honestly say that would not be the case at all and I apologise if it came across like that.1. I want to be fair to my colleagues.
2. I’m 99% certain that I will be made redundant anyway as I am the only member of staff that they will not have to pay redundancy to.
3. In over 30 years of working life, I have always been lucky enough to find work and not be on the dole and maybe that is giving me a false sense of security. However, in this current situation and now with a newly added serious health problem, for the first time in my life, I am not sure where or when my next job is coming. I am trying to dot every i and cross every t if the worst does happen.0 -
Consultation is the time to discuss the way to mitigate the impact of redundancies and look for ways to avoid them.
As much as you want "to do the right thing" you have to look after No.1 yourself first.
if you want to stay work towards that.
