Trips out of the country are gone so booking b&b in this country. But should I be getting insurance for this trip in case something goes wrong (i.e. local lockdown at either end, or going down ill). Never considered buying travel insurance for a trip within the UK before - is it a good idea and who from?

https://www.moneysavingexpert.com/insurance/cheap-travel-insurance/ offers guidance on policies and their coronavirus status - holidaying within the UK effectively takes local medical cover and repatriation out of the equation when considering risks to insure against, but if you're concerned about pre-travel cancellation or holiday curtailment, for example, then you need to ensure that any policy you buy has appropriate provisions.
