Stellar stainless.  Excellent value and will last decades.  Always come up as new.

I have a couple of their stove top espresso makers, they are made in China and far better quality than my Italian and German ones. The Italian ones committed hara-kiri.

For the frying pan I'd get a standard cast iron pan because assuming you are willing to season it and give it some basic care then they will last several lifetimes and cost very little, they outlive anything with Teflon. There's no coating to fail, you can always clean them up, re-season them and away you go again.

Thank you very much for all your replies . Very helpful indeed and I've noted three brands that I'll consider before making a choice. Have a fab day.

  • Consider investing in a variety of pots and pans in different sizes to cover various cooking needs. Also, assess the compatibility with your stovetop—some cookware works better with gas, while others are more suited for induction or electric stoves. Quality is key, so investing in durable, well-crafted cookware can make a significant difference in your cooking experience.

Thanks to those who have mentioned Stellar. I had not heard of them.

I just had a look and I am very happy to see that their Stellar 1000 casserole set has the European handles.

(Having lived in Europe for a time, I have a dislike of the long British handles!)
