VSC reinstated fine weeks after cancelling it on instruction of Landlord.

I have now received a letter stating they have a county court judgement against me and are giving me 10 days to pay £185 or I will get a CCJ. If I want to appeal the CCJ it will cost £255 for a judge to look at the case. Even if they find in my favour I'm still £255 down for a fine that was rescinded!!.
Not sure what to do as I can not get through to VCS on phone and their litigation email reply service is taking weeks apparently due to Covid.
Any advice welcome!!
Thanks Elaine

1) your account is confusing. If a court has judged against you, you already ha ve a CCJ. The "J" is judgement.
2) Why didnt you get the court claim form? Or did you, and you ignored it?
3) Have you moved by any chance?
4) Have you read the hugely obviously named NEWBIES thread, found on the first page of this forum?5 -
5) Are you sure that this is in relation to the same PCN?
PS - it's not, never was and never will be a fine.4 -
You mean you got a court claim form N1 in April and failed to follow any of the instructions? You will now have to contact VCS to see if they will consent to set aside (a set aside 'with consent' costs £100 fee to the court, not to VCS, as you know from the NEWBIES FAQS thrad about seta aside stage).
DO NOT OFFER TO PAY THE PCN.Even if they find in my favour I'm still £255 down for a fine that was rescinded!!.Why do you necessarily think that, given the threads by @Chucky1000 recently, plus the two I link in the NEWBIES thread, where all three got their Judge to order that the PPC had to pay back the £255 fee.
The website probably said it couldn't be paid (because it was subject to litigation, not due to being 'settled').PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Nine times out of ten these tickets are scams, so consider complaining to your MP., it can cause the scammer extra costs, and in some cases, cancellation.
Parliament is well aware of the MO of these private parking companies, many of whom are former clampers, and on 15th March 2019 a Bill was enacted to curb the excesses of these shysters. Codes of Practice are being drawn up, an independent appeals service will be set up later this year,
Just as the clampers were finally closed down, so hopefully will many of these companies, persistent offenders denied access to the DVLA database and unable to operate.
Hopefully life will become impossible for the worst of these scammers, but until this is done you should still complain to your MP, citing the new legislation.

I was not aware that you could get your £255 back, that is good at least.
VSC litigation dept have emailed me yesterday to say they have no record of the landlord requesting a rescinding of the ticket and they will not engage in any further discussion. I have provided them with a screenshot of all the emails from the landlord and a screenshot of their payment page stating it was settled and the matter was now closed, but they have ignored it.1 -

Yes it is the same parking charge notice. It was for parking in a disabled bay without clearly displaying a ticket which to be fair was true. I do have a badge but I had only got it te day before and it had slipped off the dashboard and I forgot to pick it up to display it. I ad appealed and sent them a photocopy of my badge but they refused my appeal. That is when the Landlord stepped in and agreed to rescind it. He actually spoke to them during a meeting with them on the 22nd January and I have an email stating that. But VCS have chosen to ignore that evidence. They truly are cowboys.

Your account is still utterly confusing.
You got a court letter in April? Do you mean you got the N1 county court claim form? If YES, then why on earth did you not defend it?

VCS wouldn't act all "nicey nicey" inviting you to pay otherwise they'll enforce the judgment - they'd just do it. So I'm not sure if you're still in the debt collection phase and VCS are simply being fast and loose with the truth.4
