I am in need of some advice regarding my recent gas and electricity.
I am moved home in January 2020 and completed all the relevant forms for moving home with Utilita and paid my final bill.
I haven’t had any contact with them since other than a cheque was sent me to with a refund as they stated I had over paid.
July 27th I received a text from utilita saying I need to urgently pay £246. I therefore called them and they stated they had made a mistake in giving me a refund in February 2020 and I now need to pay them £246. This is a mistake on the companies behalf. I have spoken to the complaints department and they said I need to pay it.
I’m unsure on where to go to for any advice.

Write to them asking for a fully detailed bill ,showing CLEARLY how the alleged debt has arisen.
IF you agree with their calculations ,then ask for a good will reduction due to their incompetence!!!1 -
