I have a recently planted Merton thornless blackberry which has settled well except there is some mottling of the leaves. Having googled this I'm quite worried as some diseases would necessitate the destruction of the plant. I'll see if I can post a close up of a couple of stems that I've removed.
Thanks
Thanks

If the disease is that bad, the plant will die anyway. It looks like it mght be a virus or it might just be reaction to the new environment. Give it a month or two more and see if it spreads. If not, golden...:)

Yes, changed growing conditions may cause such an effect. Time will tell. It looks well-mulched anyway!

Thank you taff and Davesnave. I suppose I just need to wait and see if it spreads or whether it just a settling in problem. It's growing pretty well, as is the tayberry I planted at the same time. I suppose I should stop googling every time something doesn't look perfect and go with the flow! The whole area is mulched, as it was too small to do much else with and is between an apple tree and strawberries.somewhere between Heaven and Woolworth's0
