One Call insurance cancellation

Attempted to cancel my insurance with One Call paid in full 15/3/20. Really surprised how little of a refund I will be entitled to, won't be using them again. Reply from One call via facebook messenger.
"The insurer is charging £140.14 for the time on cover, a broker fee of £39.00 and discounts on the policy of £63.89 meaning the total amount to cancel is £235.13. As you have paid £259.03 that leaves a refund of £23.90"

Doesn't sound unreasonable.
You lose your discount as you have not gone the full policy year. and a fee of £39 is reasonable and within expectation. Premium refund is broadly pro rata but normally set in blocks. i.e. its not normally daily but to the next month.
It is not normally recommended that you cancel car insurance mid policy year unless you really have to.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). What does your policy state about cancellation costs?
I have to admit that I am a little confused about the discount charge... I accept the terms may say you lose certain discounts as a consequence of breaking the contract early but would have anticipated that the fee for time on cover would therefore simply be based on the undiscounted premiums rather than a discrete fee... similarly is the £63.89 the full year discount or the discount for time on cover?0
