Do any UK landlines charge to RECEIVE mobile calls?

Hi all.
Was talking to my dad yesterday and got onto the subject of phones and broadband and he said that on his current deal (BT) and his old one (sky) he gets charged to receive calls from UK mobiles.

Can this be right? I've never heard of it before. He said he'd find a bill to show me but thought I'd ask here too.

Thanks.
D

Shouldn't be possible, the entire set up of the phone system including mobiles is that "caller pays" and always has done.

If calls are being rediverted via Call Redirect/Call Forwarding/Diversion, that's a different thing, and BT do charge for this - "Once you've ordered and activated Call Diversion, you’ll then be charged for the duration of any calls that are diverted, plus the standard call set-up fee" - https://www.bt.com/help/landline/calling-features-and-security/all-about-call-diversion

  • Thanks Neil.
That's what I thought, that it wasn't possible. I'll ask him if he's got any call diversion on, I wouldn't think so.
I'll have a look at his bill.
