O/S Daily Monday 3 August 2020
This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!
As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or SLOW internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred. When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning
Morning everyone
Hugs to those that want/need them, those who are poorly and those who are looking after a poorly person x
Happy birthday to those with a birthday x
Cloudy, overcast start but not cold. I have a wash load to peg out - I'll do that shortly.
DH up and gone to work stupid stupid early, I'm showered, dressed and enjoying my first cuppa and my porridge, DS1 getting ready for work, and DS2 settled and happy.
Lunch yesterday was roast pork, not the best joint but was ok, served the usual veggies etc, some LO's. I remembered to get the chicken out to defrost for tonight - we'll have sweet chilli chicken with veg rice.
Back to work today - will be interested to see how it's been at the back end of last week. It was definitely busier by Wednesday last week - we'll see.
Keep safe and well x

Morning folks and thanks NMLC. Hope work isn't too stressful. The sun has his hat half on at the moment and doing battle with cloud. Another sunny'cloudy day in store by the look of it.
I don't know why I am posting really as now we are back in a local lockdown, with the added bonus of solitary confinement in both house and garden, my days are the same old same old day after day. But I'm still alive and kicking so hey ho c'est la vie.
My excitement of yesterday was pretending I was a contortionist. The pullout optimiser thing in the corner cupboard had stopped pulling out as it should. Only the first section pulled out leaving me struggling to get to the next section. So I emptied it of all the tins and jars and tried to fix it. This involved practically getting into the cupboard trying to reach the non-working sliding bits. I got it better than it was but not as it should be. Anyway it will do for now and at least all the tins etc have been sorted out.
The freezer also got tidied out. The main culprit for upsetting everything was the remaining big whole sea bass delivered in error when I only wanted fillets! I managed to ram that into the small freezer as I am not in and out of that as often. So big freezer now tidy again (for now!)
Have a good day folks and ((HUGS)) for all in need of them. Take care one and all and stay safe xx

Morning All
Nice and bright again this morning, not sunny but that could come later. Yesterday turned into a lovely day with just a couple of showers - one quite heavy that saw me quickly tidy up everything I had out in the garden but it only lasted a few minutes so I had to get everything out again!
I took down the kitchen blind and gave it a scrub, I noticed it had little dead flies stuck to it when I rolled it up, they are now all gone and I may tackle the living room blinds today, they will be much easier as there are three smaller ones, the kitchen blind is quite wide. Also weeded the garden and took some cuttings, goodness knows if they will survive as one day we have warm sunshine and the next it's miserable, grey and wet.
Not much else planned but will probably go for a walk, really enjoyed it yesterday. Happy Monday, take care. XX12 -
Good morning and thank you for starting the thread nmlc.
Another day of sunshine, I have washing nearly ready to go out and a small second load ready to go in the machine.
I have lots of housework to avoid today, I am much better at housework in cold weather, in summer, the garden is much more interesting. I do try to tidy as I go, followed by 2 persons untidying as they go.
We are not in lockdown but I do wonder if we might be very soon, our infection rates appear to be high, according to an article I read yesterday. It would make very little difference to us though.
I have not much to say as life just wombats along so I'll wish everyone a good day.
I was jumping to conclusions and one of them jumped back13 -
Good morning everyone
It's going to be another warm sunny day here so the windows are open to let the air circulate. My grandchildren arrived just before 8am for the day so will have to think of something to entertain them rather than just letting them on the computer. I might dig my cardmaking stuff out again as my grand daughter is very clever at thinking of designs.
Other than that I have nothing planned. The washing is up to date and the house is fairly tidy. I am struggling to find things to keep me occupied as my usual fallback of knitting is out for a day or so as my wrist is sore and painful.
Right, I am off to get washed and changed and we will see what the day brings.
Hope you all have a great day whatever you are up to, take care xx

Hi everyone, Life is quiet again atm although we're not in lockdown here as infection rates seem quite low. Bedford next door has higher rates though so it doesn't do to be complacent.
Laura and Brian are going home after their camping weekend which they all seem to have enjoyed. We won't be seeing them for a few weeks now but I'm sure we'll get plenty of photos and videos to help cop with the withdrawal. We'll be keeping Ziggypup until then and she seems to be enjoying the extra attention without the small human around.
We're trying to decide whether to swap the car or keep it for another couple of years or so. We had a phone call from the dealership last week so we are waiting to see what options we have - we know what we want and how much we're willing to pay it just depends if we can get it. I'd like a hybrid car this time if we can make it work, an all electric would be no good for the long journeys we make but a hybrid would be useful for local travel on electric and longer journeys on petrol.

Morning all
Bright and sunny day here again we have been very lucky with the weather this year. Yesterday OH and I went out for a long walk and ended up at a pub which had great socially distancing in place so we thought we would stop for a drink, we were not allowed inside but sat outside and someone came over with a drinks menu, I fancied a glass of wine looked at the price and £12 for a glasserrrr no thanks we got up and walked out, some places seem to have put the prices right up after lockdown, but that was ridiculous !!!!!
Today I need to empty and refill the magic cupboard and clean the kitchen, I want to clean a couple of cupboards out today as well, the bathroom could do with a good clean as well.
Dinner tonight is still undecided but there is plenty in.
Have good days all xx

Morning folks. The weather hasn't made it's mind up yet so it could go either very sunny or very wet. Last night I slept much better apart from a comfort break at 4.00a.m. When I passed DM's room her TV was still on and she was fast asleep, she had nodded off very quickly.I'm about to go out. Apart from collecting a couple of parcels from JL and M&S I have no plans, think I'll take the car for a longer drive. It's diesel and doesn't enjoy little tip-tap journeys,it needs a high speed blast every so often.SNOOZER - All electric cars worry me, my home is too remote for me to chance it. There's some new models which are self-charging which may work better for me, however I'll probably keep this car as I really enjoy using it and it's perfectly fine at three years old. I like looking though!Yesterday I spent some time looking at houses for sale in different areas, including my old street in Newcastle. I even looked at places for sale in the house before my last one - opposite it was an old derelict dairy building which is now flats, one has a roof terrace and two have courtyard space. Such a lot of renovations around and there's a huge number of student flats now.Right, must go out. I hope that everyone is doing at least OK. Happy Monday to all.12

Morning all! I'll be off out in a minute to fetch my various freebies, one which will be repaired and sold [ offered as such so I'm not cheating anyone out of anything] and a couple of things I will use. This means I have to rearange and get rid of other things which is no hardship, one in ,one out is my new motto. I have various things to put up for sale on various sites, we'll see how they go and I must make a list of things to buy in the event of lockdown. The numbers are not looking good here.I must also fit in some an hour at least a day of learning italian, the first few sessions are a breeze, it's the one where you have to make a full sentence that's the problem. I'm ok with vocabulary, just rubbish at verbs and tenses. We have a load of jobs planned now though so the next time we're locked down, we'll be busy. We could be busy anyway but the temptation is to while away the days doing nothing much of anything which doesn't help either of us. At least the garden looks a whole lot better than it has done for five years. Inside the house, not so much....For all those not sleeping I read an article yesterday about how lockdown affected sleeping patterns so if it's any help, you're all in good company [this includes me...]Rght, going to love you and leave you including those reading along so stay safe and no licking peoples faces OK? Mobius strip Monday!Non me fac calcitrare tuum culi12
