My AA Renewal is due in September. I contacted them but they would not reduce the quote of £168 a year.
Could i cancel, and set up another policy taking advantage of the cashback from Topcashback or Quidco?
I only have a basic bank account so i am unable to use a current account with breakdown cover.
Thanks

Depends on what cover you want.

Hi, you will probably not get the cashback if you buy another AA policy as you are an existing customer.  it is better to buy a RAC policy this year through Quidco/Topcashback & do the same next year but buy a AA policy.
Do not pay by card, set it up as an annual direct debit & cancel once they have taken the money.
  • I may ring them 2 weeks before its due to renew and say im leaving, just to see whats on offer.

Auto Aid, - what advantage does AA offer?
  • I have been impressed with the service from the AA, 2 callouts were prompt and professional.

I am surprised they won't drop the price for you. I have to go through the usual pain of renegotiation with them every year and (so far) I have always managed to get a price reduction.
This year they wanted £125, when I told them I was not prepared to pay a 20%+ price increase they actually reduced it to less than I was paying last year?

It seems to depend who you speak to, last year they would not drop for me despite saying I was leaving, get cheaper elsewhere etc
I did as iainscomputer suggested above, went to RAC
