I understand that the OP does not like the answer people are giving.  Here is an article that explains the situation a bit more:
    https://www.moneysavingexpert.com/news/2020/05/payment-holidays-may-hurt-mortgage-application-chances-via-the-b/#:~:text=Martin%20Lewis%2C%20founder%20of%20MoneySavingExpert,when%20making%20their%20acceptance%20decisions.

To a certain extent, however, it is immaterial whether the payment holiday is taken into account as it cannot be changed.  The payment holiday was taken.  If that affects a future loan application, then it affects it.  If it doesn't, then it doesn't.  The OP just needs to apply and make a decision from the loan offers that are actually available to them.

I don't dislike the answer - I am purely disputing that they can tell there has been a payment holiday from the credit file.

    Mortgage Balance Jan 50000, Feb 49500, Mar 49000, Apr 49500, May 50000, Jun 50500, Jul 51000

If the payment isn't made, interest accrues.............

And you've been repeatedly told that the monthly balance is recorded and if it doesn't go down or increases, you're obviously on a payment holiday.

Barclays told me they don't store it - surely if it is stored by law the CRA should show it to me, like the other credit accounts.

Not necessarily.  Do an SAR on Equifax and see what they come back with.  That's the only way to be sure you're seeing everything.

When I see the information available on the free CRA services, I can see balance at each monthly data date for all my credit card / loan / mortgage accounts.  I would be shockingly surprised if other lenders could not also see this.

Obviously, the OP will not accept this.

To be fair, it could that these services are retaining the balance information themselves.  However, I did check my Transunion statutory report and it does indeed record the monthly balance for my mortgage.  I'd check Experian but I need to wait 5 days for a passkey.

So at least one CRA does kee a record of this and I'm not sure why the OP is fixated on Equifax.

CRA's have always maintained loan balances. Without the data the information would be useless to credit providers and other users.
Fixation on ones credit report isn't healthy either.

If that is the case, given that this data is held electronically, the CRA are breaking the law by withholding this information. Right?
