Can hotels still quote 20% VAT

    I may be wrong but I thought UK consumer laws say that unless it is a business to business transaction a company has to quote prices inclusive of VAT. So they shouldn't be listing VAT exclusive prices.
    Yes but then on an invoice even to a consumer it often shows the amount of VAT contained in that price.
    So it might be advertised as £120 and then at the bottom stated that there is £5.72 VAT included in the above price.

    But as others have said, as long as they are charging the correct VAT rate at the date of invoice, there is no obligation to pass on the savings for a consumer transaction. If they advertised £120 then they can still charge £120.
