    Don't ignore lenny3's offer the lidl ones work as well as any, I've had one for ages.

    As for what to do with the information, it will allow you to work out how much household devices cost to run. You can see how much it costs a day to leave your TV on standby, turn electric radiators down a notch, leave your computer on, etc.

    If I remember correctly, I'm afraid you can't - they are incapable of measuring very small consumptions (5W or less?) accurately. This is a pity. I have a Lidl one which I've not used.
    Time is an illusion - lunch time doubly so.
