Does CASS transfer pension payments in?

My parents have an account with RBS where my dad’s state pension gets paid. The RBS account is becoming troublesome to manage especially with the distance to the nearest branch. So my mum is considering switching the RBS account to an existing Natwest account.
Will the CASS transfer also move the payment from DWP?
I did consider if we could change the bank account details with DWP but this seems difficult at the moment. From reading DWP’s website, we need to inform them about bank account changes by phone. However during the pandemic, they are only taking calls about new (pensions) claims of the phone.

Yes  it will.

But it is always a good move to tell any regular payments your new account details.

The payments will be redirected via CASS for up to 36 months but as above best not to leave it that long to tell DWP the new details..

36 months is now the minimum, and redirections continue thereafter until 13 consecutive months pass without any, so these could theoretically be indefinite.
