having two solar panels for water fountain

Hi
we have a water fountain (bernini). After the battery died and that model in no more available,it is now run by a solar panel (bought off eBay)
We are thoroughly impressed by the feature and zero cost of running.
But it runs only from 3-4pm onwards due to garden direction and solar panel position.
Is there any way I could add another solar panel facing the opposite direction to make it run longer?
How is that to be connected?

I don't understand what you mean. If you current solar panel only runs for that time due to your garden position then you can put the solar panel wherever and it won't work because it won't get the sun. If you mean you have hardwired the solar panel in but it would get more sun in a different part of the garden, just move the current one you have and lay some extra wiring/joining down, redo the connections.

Presumably by adding an additional solar panel in a more preferable spot it will add substantially more power and allow the item to run for longer. Won't that be easier than dismantling and rewiring what is already in place? No man is worth crawling on this earth.
So much to read, so little time.0 -
I might be wrong, but...
Couldn't you use the panel(s) to charge a battery and run the fountain from the battery.
That way you could have multiple panels in the sun all day.0 -
Solar Panel we have is fixed to fence panel and gets ample sun from 3pm onwards and fountain works fine. But if we can get one more panel flat on top of fence post,we could make the fountain run from 9am onwards! So the question is if I buy a similiar solar panel how do i connect it to present set up?We are not keen on a battery or manually changing panels as per sun postion,thanks.0

If te solar panels have built-in diodes to prevent current running through them in reverse, then it's simple. Wire both in parallel to the pump - i.e. wire both positives to the pump positive, and both negatives to the pump negative. If they don't have built-in blocking diodes, then you really should add them. You'd need a couple of small rectifier diodes.Place the two solar panels at different angles, so one gets the morning sun and one the afternoon sun.If it sticks, force it.
If it breaks, well it wasn't working right anyway.2
