I have tried to find out from the Eon website the times that the cheap night rate begins and ends but as usual with Eon its impossible. Does anyone happen to know this please.

Never pay on an estimated bill. Always read and understand your bill

It varies regionally, not by your supplier.  However, the only way to be sure is to look at your meter.  Remember that there can be two hours at day rate in the middle of the night.

Thank you for the replies. Gerry1 when you say "look at the meter" do you mean the metre that takes the reading and if it is, what am I looking for on the metre?

The meter will show you the rate that is currently in use.  Check around the expected times and verify when it changes over.
If you have storage or immersion heaters the sockets may have neon indicators which will indicate when the circuits are live.
If you have a Radio Teleswitch you'll see the red indicator (below '80A') drop down when the cheap rate kicks in.
  • If it's a smart meter that e.on fitted then your times will be 12.30 to 7.30 as they use SSC 0151 across the country. I'm not sure if this is affected by BST.
