I was just signing up for the Credit Club out of curiosity, but it's asking lots of questions about my personal circumstances that I don't feel comfortable sharing with CRAs and god knows what else. Obviously, I know I need to give my name, address, DOB and card/account details to verify my information

But I'm specifically talking about my marital status, living situation, employment, income, rent and number of dependents. Is that information passed to Experian?

Why are you not comfortable with it? It doesn’t share any information with the CRA it uses, which is Experian. I’m sure you’ve probably already shared this information with any banks and credit accounts you already have?

They ask this information as they use it as part of trying to work out your affordability for loans and credit cards they they provide via there own eligibility checker.

Time is a path from the past to the future and back again. The present is the crossroads of both.

    What information exactly?

Lenders only see what appears on your credit files.
  • The data won’t be shared with CRAs, they deal with CREDIT information (hence the name) and rather basic details to identify you and prevent fraud. The data for Credit Club might for other features, not just credit files.

Well, obviously they need my name, DOB, address and a credit/debit card for verification, but I don't understand why I need to give my marital status, living situation, employment, income, rent and number of dependents. Just to get my credit score. Is that information passed to Experian?

Also, I haven't had any credit in years so they probably don't know very much about me at all, and I'd like to keep it that way

Its not your score your getting but your history, lenders only see your history.
Maybe data like income, employment, living situation etc is so Mse credit club can cater offers to you eg insurance.

You could always not give the right info, if theres a "not applicable" or similar option then choose that, just make it up is what Im saying.
