Any amount paid on the card even if it's only 1p will give the buyer the same S75 rights as if the full balance was paid that way.0 -

I wanted to buy a car told them to take the deposit on the card, they refused, i noticed they take cards for repairs etc.
So i walked got a call next day saying we will take the card.0 -
I was to trade in my car, but instead sold privately, and the garage didn't blink about the £2,500 deposit being paid by CC. It's not a blanket rule, and maybe these days it's a bit outdated not to take them.

I am now on my third car from a main Honda dealer all paid for by cash, they will only take the deposit with a CC and the remainder by bank transfer or cheque, if a cheque they will not release the vehicle until it has cleared.0
