- very first time for me to write anything about a product but in this case i feel so let down by a big company lg . you all need to know this before you buy your next tv i purchased my lg oled tv from richer sounds {by the way they have been great and this is not a fault with them} have had tv for 16 months started to see what looked like a watermark in left hand corner tv it was the logo of good morning britain " burn in "to the screen ,spoke to richer sounds they say that its not covered under my 6 year warranty but like i say they been very helpful and as good will gesture they will reimburse the cost of repair .when asked why this has happened the answer was" its your usage" this means watching a programme for long periods of time with a static image i.e. {good morning britain logo). i asked " how long is a long period of time" they said you need to speak to lg themselves again being very helpful . so phoned lg 31 july 20 told them of the problem and asked about where all the info is regarding the correct usage to prevent this problem .i did inform the lady at the time i was going to record the conversation to make sure i understood everything she was to tell me . she said that
- that when i purchased tv i should have gone to lg website and read the pages of how to use tv and to stop burn in.
- when asked about watching for long periods of time ," how long is it considered to be a long period of time" because that information was not available anywhere she said i will check with a technician long pause and answer" watching programmes like good morning britain or any program with a logo for a length of time will cause burn in "[ still no length of time as mins or hours } so i asked again that the program is a itv program and has an advert every 15 mins at the most ,she said that this still holds on to the logo ? dont understand this surely this is the screen with other image like adverts
- my real point is that if i was to have it fixed in 16 months time i will have same fault because , i don't really see watching a program like good morning britain as being a long period of time to which lg still have not said what a long time is so like i say make your own opinion but i have decided to go to a different brand
"many thanks for your attention taxi tony

Too late for the OP but I came across this:
How To Set Your OLED TV Correctly and Avoid TV Burn-In
It certainly seems that OLED panels generally - and LG's OLED panels specifically - are not fit for purpose.2 -
many thanks but like you say bit late and i couldn't agree with you more that these are not fit for purpose !!! , and if someone had said you need to to do these setting to stop burn in, then why o why send out a tv with the setting that will cause burn in
which is the factory setting, hope you see my point tony

Have you tried not watching good morning Britain? Cure a catalogue of ills....3

My lg oled has a pixel refresh automatically at times, as long as you leave it plugged in, which of course you have.1
-
yes left plugged in all the time also when left on pause the screen goes into stand by mode after about 5 mins and yes on my oled its called pixel refresher which has been on from new [factor setting ] ,doing more research think this was a entry level B model and think they are more susceptible but thanks for input0
