Holiday pay and furlough

I have recently had a situation at work. I work in the hospitality sector and was placed on furlough. The branch re-opened this month and we were told that we were to be put on flexi-furlough. Last week we received a vaguely worded email saying that the way we work out holiday year is changing and it will start on the 1st of August. In addition to that all of our accrued holidays will to purchased from us at our hourly rate. When we received our furlough today with our payslips our full wage had been payed in holiday hours. I was under the impression that furlough was available till October and that holiday hours can be forced to be taken but cannot be forced to sell them. If anyone can shed any light on this situation I would be very thankful.
