Scaffolding - Rough cost for a three-storey house (chimney work and repointing)

Hi all,
I'm looking to get some repointing work done on one side of a three-storey semi-detached house, along with a couple of fixes to the chimney. I'm in the East Midlands. I've had a quote from a builder who quoted £1000 just for the scaffolding. Does that sound about right?
Thanks for any help.

About right - scaffolding is a small part of the total costNever pay on an estimated bill. Always read and understand your bill1

Thanks so much for confirming. I've never had to have scaffolding before, so it was a bit of a shock, but I'm pleased to know it's about the right price.Robin9 said:About right - scaffolding is a small part of the total cost0 -
Ring round some scaffolding firms yourself, your builder may add a bit to the cost for his own pocket, but then again he may also be able to get preferential rates.1

Thanks for the advice. I was wondering if builders add a bit for their own pocket. I guess there's only one way to find out.neilmcl said:Ring round some scaffolding firms yourself, your builder may add a bit to the cost for his own pocket, but then again he may also be able to get preferential rates.0
