Scaffolding - Rough cost for a three-storey house (chimney work and repointing)

Hi all,
I'm looking to get some repointing work done on one side of a three-storey semi-detached house, along with a couple of fixes to the chimney. I'm in the East Midlands. I've had a quote from a builder who quoted £1000 just for the scaffolding. Does that sound about right?

Thanks so much for confirming. I've never had to have scaffolding before, so it was a bit of a shock, but I'm pleased to know it's about the right price.

Ring round some scaffolding firms yourself, your builder may add a bit to the cost for his own pocket, but then again he may also be able to get preferential rates.

Thanks for the advice. I was wondering if builders add a bit for their own pocket. I guess there's only one way to find out.
