Best Masking Tape Brand?

I have a few painting and crafting projects where the masking tape may have to stay in place for a couple of weeks.
I have recently got some masking tape packs from Poundland. Even when brand new taken from the packet, the tape doesn't even tear away properly. Just rubbish, but for a £1 I suppose you can't ask for much.
Which masking tape brand do you recommend and are there any other type tapes that can stay on gold metal for a couple of weeks and not leave a mark or sticky residue afterwards?

Frog tape all the way. Just choose the one designed to be left for longer than normal - but even this isn't designed to be left for 2 weeks. Will that be really necessary? It's more than £1 a roll. A lot more. But you get what you pay for.

Frog tape for me too. Excellent stuff.0

Recently used frog tape, from screwfix.
Nice clean lines, no bleed. But upon removal, it did peel away some pain from the wall.0 -
I understood it needs to be removed before the paint dries hard - which I interpret as being dry to the touch, but perhaps not left overnight.UncleZen said:Recently used frog tape, from screwfix.

So much to read, so little time.0 -
You can always put a filling knife, razor blade etc along the edge if you are having problems.0

Thanks, Frogtape looks like the winner. About £5 a roll depending on type. I'll give the 21-day version a go.

Hmmm. So what happens if you want to apply two coats of paint (which is common)?Rosa_Damascena said:
