Ok as we know Pc world can be and is sometimes a bit hopeless, plus expensive with their peripherals depending what you are after. However thier new tactic really takes the biscuit.
Theres a new Pc World deal on printer inks (ok I know you can get them cheaper else where) 'Buy 1 get another half price'. However they have upped the price of all inks for example..
HP 363 value pack last week £27.99, BUT this week with the offer buy 1 get one half price a HP 363 value pack is now been increased to £39.99, its the same with cannon, epson inks as well, except kodak because they have advertised thier prices of inks and PC world cannot alter the prices, same with HP and the indivdual 363 inks from £6.99
So be very careful if your shopping in PC World and decide to buy inks go else where and get them cheaper.

I'm sure this is illegal, certainly immoral. Weren't Tesco fined for doing something similar?
I get inks from ebay generally - much cheaper.0 -
I doubt it's illegal, a retailer can set the price to whatever they want, it's certainly a scam though. I usually find Viking Direct offer good prices on inks, especially if you buy in quantity (genuine ones). However they offer cheaper prices in some of their "sale" catalogues with a special order code compared with those from their main catalogue too!
I believe Tesco did this with Petrol recently, where we live - they upped the price it to 2p more a litre than a local Shell station, and nearly 3p more than all the other competitors Sainsburys etc, (easy to compare with PetrolPrices.com) all local to the store (within 2 miles), but were then giving away a 5p off fuel voucher if you spent £50 or more in store.0 -

Around mine Tesco fuel is still one of the cheapest compared to others.
But recently all fuel prices have been changing daily due to market conditions in all the pumps.0 -

i have seen things in supermarkets that have been at a cheaper price and then go back up to the full price at the same time as a buy 1 get 1 free offer starts.0 -
a lot of stores use december as a price fixing month, esp getting ready for the boxing day sales.
we were in a carpet shop today (she wants a new rug!) all the rugs were very expensive. bet you any money they will all be half price come the 26th december.

but 3 weeks previous the ink was £39.99...
things go on offer, things go off offers, offers change.. its what retailers do..0 -
Maybe the £27.99 price was an offer price and the £39.99 price is the standard price, if your really that bothered then chceck the price in a months timeNo Links in Signature by site rules - MSE Forum Team 20

should just avoid pc world at all costs, useless place, bare minimum overpriced hardware, nothing specialised i.e. decent psus or specific wireless cards (using ath chipsets etc)
and the staff..fair enough they prob dont get paid much will say anything to get a sale, and generally either lie/dont know much

lately i have been looking around for a xbox 360 bundle i fancy. over the weekend i looked in pc world and their bundles are simply ridiculous. well as we know the more that is in a bundle the more money they ask for. every single bundle had a media remote in it. now what use is that if you are just getting a new xbox 360? i mean isnt it mainly for use with the hd dvd add on? so they are including the remote when it is obvious you dont have the hd dvd add on yet. dont they realise people would rather have another game thrown in instead?0
