ACAS are right. It was due to the pandemic. But the problem is that a proposed new law has not been enacted. It has not been suspended or changed or removed because of the pandemic. It never got enacted in the first place.lukecoa87 said:
The way ACAS talked it was due to the pandemic, I know everyone under pressure with money etc but feel there abusing the law, it sounds odd but feels like it planned for a her return to change her contract.Jeremy535897 said:I think there is some misunderstanding here. The government committed in 2019 to extend protection for women returning from maternity leave by six months. See
The proposed new law was to be set out in the Employment Bill in the Queen's speech in December 2019, but coronavirus has interrupted it. See
So what you refer to as a loophole is wrong. What has happened is that a commitment to enact a proposed law has not happened at the time it should have happened, despite other changes coming into effect from 6 April 2020.There silly thing I’ve not mentioned like people have volunteered for Redundancy and they have spoken to them saying why they done it and not staying for the new role. So they knew who they wanted it just a joke.0 -
Your worries and concerns are understandable. Having been involved in such processess many times over the years. There'll be nothing personal in what the organisation is doing. The business has one aim and that is to survive. Cutting costs and reducing head count is not an easy or pleasant task.lukecoa87 said:
