Lounging on the sofa last night, I could hear all this rattling coming from outside. I went to investigate and all the wine was neatly lined up on the doorstep! 🤣
I'd completely forgotten about the order. Beats a milkman any day. 🤣😁

Forgot an expensive wine order?

Mind you, someone in our flats recently left a bag of takeaway food delivered by somewhere outside the door, so would have known they were there but didn't collect the food; there was quite a bit too so it wouldn't have been cheap. Some people, more money than sense, huh?

I don't normally do online shopping but reading on here it seemed like a better idea than going to the supermarket and loading it all up there myself. I think I've just lost track of days during lockdown. I knew I definitely wasn't going out on Tuesday evening when I placed the order so no harm done. The delivery guy did knock but after he'd put everything down.

No way would I have forgotten my very 1st Sainsbury order, consisting of about 85% wine, 10% beer & 5 % food & household just so we didn't look like alcoholics .

Really pleased with it. Only 2 wine substitutions, both sensible alternatives & one much dearer bottle for same price
Will try them for next main shop for comparison with my usual (Tesco).

It worked out at £4.80 for the Cava and £4.30 for the CdR, takes me back to France daytrip prices.

Yeah, we got 30 bottles of wine and I was just going to get 2 pots of mustard as well however my wife persuaded me to add a few other items onto our delivery as well as the mustard!

When we used to visit my son at uni in Bordeaux, we would quite happily quaff what he called 'Chateau de B*stard' costing about 50p a litre IIRC

Stocking up for a few months actually; have a couple of bottles a week.
