Elevate Loans Added Wrongly

Hi,

Ive been slowly improving my credit score over the last year after years of mismanagement. At the end of June I was sitting at around 410 which was a big improvement for me. I use ClearScore.

As the end of each month nears I’m always living in hope of a slight increase which normally always occurs.

It was with utter dread to log in at the beginning of July to see my score had dropped by nearly 70 points!

On checking the reasons why, it became apparent that 11 Short Term Loans had been added to my credit file. These loans were never requested and no funds were received. The loans were under the name “Elevate”. A quick search via google told me this was the name that “Sunny” come under, now in Admin.

I immediately contacted ClearScore and Elevate to have this corrected and stated how it has damaged my credit score after a long time of rebuilding.

ClearScores response was appalling and generic. Along the lines of here’s ways to improve your credit score etc! My complaint was not even looked at by all accounts.

Days later Elevate/Sunny replied to say they are not looking into my complaint but it’ll be held on file.

I am now left with a damaged credit score and not sure where to turn, any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Don't worry.  You don't actually have a credit score so it's not been damaged, so stop fretting about that. It;s a comedy gimmick for your eyes only.

What actually appears on your files? Actual accounts? Loan amounts? Or just searches?

If there are accounts that are not yours, you just need to dispute them, either with the lender or the CRA. In most cases, it will be easily resolved.
  • No loan amounts but all 11 are showing as Actual Accounts.

These we’re not requested and when I’ve emailed Sunny to correct this it’s there administrator that has replied with the intention of not dealing with my complaint

Then raise a dispute with each CRA where it appears (check all of them).

    Failing that, the ICO.

What is the status of the accounts, given they have no loan amounts? And what are the relevant dates on the accounts?

Did you have these removed first of all?  I've recently had all my "Elevate" loans removed and then added back as "-Elevate".
It didn't affect my credit score though as the dates all matched the same as the previous entries.  Are you sure there isn't another reason is has decreased?

This is obviously assuming that you did previously take out loans through them.
  • How did you get these Elevate loans removed off your account, as i've just had the same problem??
