Airport parking refund query - advice please

I was booked to go to Spain mid April of this year. Flying from Southend to Alicante. I had booked airport parking through Travel Essentials on a non flexible booking. The flights were obviously cancelled at that time but I have been unable to claim a refund or even a voucher for future use for the £82 I had paid for the parking. I understand I was on a non flexible booking but the airport was closed to flights at that time. I thought I read somewhere on this site that a refund or voucher should still be an option but I seem to be getting nowhere.
Has anybody managed to get a refund or voucher under these circumstances from this company because as a regular customer of theirs I think it's pretty shoddy service to refuse any assistance at all.
Many thanks.

As they seem to be issuing refunds
How did you pay for the parking?
If credit or debit card then a charge back could be initiated.0 -
If you paid for parking, and the parking was available, then unless it was part of the holiday package I'm not sure a chargeback would work. You'd be reliant on their goodwill, or claim it on travel insurance.0

You need to see if they were open - if closed you're entitled to a refund.
If they were open, then the product you booked was available for you to use and even a chargeback will fail.0 -

i fear you may be right. it just seems ridiculous if no flights were leaving not to even offer a voucher to use at a later date instead of them using the 'non flexible booking' excuse. there must be loads in my situation - which is probably why they are playing hard ball.mattyprice4004 said:You need to see if they were open - if closed you're entitled to a refund.

it's just that i thought i read on MSE that even if you booked a non flexible parking stay that due to the circumstances, a refund or voucher should still be available to you?0 -
Any refund would only be due if the parking was closed. From the report below it may have still been open.

Whilst the pandemic stopped meant passengers temporarily couldn't fly from the airport, it still continued with cargo operations and repatriation flights without issue.
