Where do you store your BBQ gas?

New to BBQs.
I would like to know where should a gas bottle (propane) be stored? When reading, it says not in the rain/sun and a well ventilated area. Where can I store it? I have a 10kg bottle bought from homebase. Any ideas?

Shed, garage, under the BBQ with a rain cover over it0

Ours sits next to the BBQ under the side shelf of the BBQ and the whole thing is then covered with a rain cover when not in use.0
