If he paid for even part of the holiday by credit card then he could claim on the credit card company.

Alternatively, claim on the travel insurance. He was insured wasn't he?

    Thomas Cook Update

The news of Thomas Cook ceasing trading on Monday, 23 September 2019 is a worry for many people and our thoughts go to everyone who is affected.

Olympic Holidays is fully ABTA and ATOL-bonded for your peace of mind and a family-owned specialist business with more than 50 years’ experience of over 50 European islands – so your booking and money is secure.

Have you got the full story from your Grandad?

    Some confusion.

I suspect Grandad still had, or still has, an Olympic Holiday booked.

Olympic Holidays is still trading, none of their (ATOL protected) holidays have been cancelled, so naturally, there is no claim. Someone needs to read the documents, when was he due to travel, if it was last year, it looks as though he just didn't turn up, if its this year you need to contact Olympic Holidays and find out the current position

Aye I reckon he saw the news, saw TC had gone under and has just assumed because he booked in a TC shop his holiday was off.

To be fair her grandad could be in his 80s and not "with it", she can only go off what she has been told.
