I have a couple of credit cards and one has offered a new balance transfer rate, if I were to use this on an existing card would they carry out a new credit search or automatically transfer as I have the card?

Your existing cards may carry out a search at any time.
But in general terms, BTs will normally go through without a fuss.0 -
The reason I ask is I am also applying for a mortgage so don’t want to be seen as applying for anything else as technically it isn’t new. Would I be best to wait until the mortgage has gone through?0

Not if you can move an interest bearing debt and to 0%.0
