Anywhere I can take a child passenger on a track?
Options
Hi, my 10 year old son is aware I have done a bunch of racing car/rally/supercar days and is asking if he can come along on one as a passenger to see what it is like.
Any type of driving is fine, even if it means taking my little 1.4L Ford Focus road car on a track day! But so far 14 is the youngest passenger age I have found.
He wants to drive with me, not with one of the track instructors. Any ideas?

Yeah the Nurburgring, he would love it.2

Thanks, that's an idea, though would mean creating a holiday around it. In the meantime if anyone can think of a UK based one please let me know. It can be driving any vehicle. Reliant Robins included (actually I did do a timed slalom race with them once. It was hilariously difficult to stop them tipping over!)0

I checked my local track but they quote MSA regulations and it's a minimum 14 years old as well unfortunately.

Not a track day, but a few years ago I had a day driving Land Rovers at a local off-road centre. I have to say, I think it was the most fun I've ever had - more so, I think, than driving a Ferrari on a track day many years ago. And I learnt a hell of a lot. Anyhow, they were more than happy for my two kids to come along and sit in the back seat. No age limit, the only stipulation was that they'd fit securely in a standard seat belt (no child seats, obviously). I reckon they enjoyed it even more than me ! Might be worth a look if you've got something similar near you ?

Thanks I'll look into that. The only other thing I can think of is 2 seat go-karts, but I was hoping for something bigger.0

Nurburgring works because strictly speaking it's not a track. Anything that is avowedley a track is likely to be problematic.1
