Just found I have a ccj

A letter from the debt collection agency saying u need to pay this or the bailiffs will come.

Because an old dvla invoice went to our old address and the people didn't forward any letters on so its been escalated so now has a ccj

I am now worried. What shall i do.

Please advise

    Paying it off is your best bet.

    Various options exist.
    If you admit the debt is yours, you can either pay it off in full, ask the creditor if they will accept an instalment plan, or set it in stone and apply to the court to pay by monthly payments instead.

    if you deny the debt is yours, a set aside should be applied for.

    Depends.
    If it’s been paid within the first month of being awarded then it will get removed.

    If not then it will remain for 6 years.

    Letter from debt collection agency was dated few weeks ago and was given to us by new tenets who move in but County court one will have been earlier in the year but we have never seen it.

    sounds like you have been taken for a ride by debt collection company , have you checked if a ccj exists ? or just taken there word for it

    sounds like you have been taken for a ride by debt collection company , have you checked if a ccj exists ? or just taken there word for it 
    I have just taken their word for it. Its from marston debt collector. When we rang they said its our fault for not letting DVLA about new address and nothing they can do. How do i find if ccj exists?
