Ran over lawnmower cord. Not completely severed. Fixable?

Options
Managed to run over cord cutting the grass. Hasn't completely cut it in half but nicked it in 2 places. 1 of which has cut 1 of the 2 wires. Is it fixable for a complete novice?

Easy to fix with a connecter. My wife does it all the time with the hedge strimmer.

Something like this will do. How far along the lead is the break?

Or you could just fit a new cable!

If you use this sort of connector, make sure that you attach the plug ( the bit with the pins sticking out) to the cable that is joined to the mower and the socket (the part shown on the left of the picture) to the cable that goes to the mains plug.
This is for safety reasons so that you don't have mains voltage on the exposed pins.

If in any doubt, either get a professional to replace the cable or see if you have a friend who can do this sort of job.

I wonder what % of DIYers have managed to wire them the wrong way? :)

None have lived to tell the tale.
A man walked into a car showroom.
He said to the salesman, “My wife would like to talk to you about the Volkswagen Golf in the showroom window.”
Salesman said, “We haven't got a Volkswagen Golf in the showroom window.”
The man replied, “You have now mate".

You need to cut the cord fully at those two places - then as suggested you can put a proper connector in.  Don't be tempted to bandage up the half cut cord in any way.
But a banker, engaged at enormous expense,
Had the whole of their cash in his care.

Your wife does, eh?  Do you think she might be trying to tell you something?! Can't YOU start using the hedge strimmer?!
