Hen party

I have a hen party booked for 22 women (all from different households) at the Shankly Hotel in Liverpool. The room we have booked is a dorm style room with 12 double beds - meaning we have to share beds.  The hotel says they are fully compliant with government guidelines and that the booking can go ahead. Therefore they are unwilling to offer a refund. However, I cannot see how 22 woman from different households sharing one room (and double beds!) adheres to social distancing. They have said we can change the booking however the earliest date they can give us is the end of September 2021 which is 11 months after wedding!
Am I entitled to a refund for this booking?
Thanks

No you arent. The choice not to go would be up to you and the hotel wouldnt be liable for that.

To be honest just do whatever the 22 of you are comfortable with.

Was the room booked on a refundable or non refundable basis?

    Thank you.
Does government advice differ from what hotels and households are able to do?

Hotels wont care how your party is made up, that is your concern. And advice is just that: advice.

Non refundable is just that I’m afraid....

In light of that they are actually being generous in offering an alternative date, they don’t have to do so.

So when you are out and about partying in Liverpool are you all going to be seated in separate household group bubbles 2 metres apart in the bars and shout across to each other?

It may start with the best of intentions (assuming you can even get all 22 of you into the bars and restaurants at one go) but I don't think it would last.
