British Airways Vouchers

I booked a party of 8 people a holiday for May 2020 with British Airways. I also booked a shuttle from Glasgow to London for 4 of the party, I was not a passenger on that flight. All flights were paid for by me with my own debit card. The flights were cancelled and BA sent me an email with a link to getting a voucher issued and I followed it and accepted the vouchers as a party we had agree to do the same holiday again next year. I immediately tried calling BA to rebook the flight for 2021, after 2/3 weeks of trying to get through I was so frustrated that I raised a complaint with customer services that it was ridiculous that the only way I could rebook using vouchers was over the phone and yet no-one answers the calls. In the interim the flight costs for next year were spiralling so I decided to rebook the exact same flights for the exact same dates for next year and paid for these before they got more expensive. Knowing that I would reuse the BA vouchers at some point in the future. I finally get a call today from customers services and they have said that the only people who can use the vouchers are the passengers themselves (even though I paid for everything) so all I can use is my one voucher against any other travel and the other travellers are not allowed to gift me their vouchers they have to use it to fly themselves. Furthermore I cannot cancel my new flights and use the vouchers to rebooks as the same terms apply. If I had known this was the case I would never have accepted a voucher- not that they offered anything else. Help please??

Especially this bit
UPDATE: British Airways told us today that it will soon begin converting vouchers from flights where more than one passenger was travelling. This will still only apply to cash bookings and not Avios tickets.
