Zagg Replacement

Hello,
I'm hoping someone could help with a question about postage for a replacement of a faulty item.
I am aware of the distance selling regs applicable to the UK but this company (Zagg) is selling in £s, is based in Ireland and America and according to their website is operating under Utah Law (https://www.zagg.com/en_uk/purchase-terms#refunds-returns).
I have a faulty phone case. They will replace the item for free but state I have to pay to get the new one to me. They have agreed the item is faulty.
I'm not sure if they have to comply with UK comsumer rights law.
Thanks for any help - happy to claify anything.

No, if you buy from a company in Utah then it's Utah law which applies.

They operate from Ireland too. Does that make a difference?

No. It matters who you bought from and what T&Cs on that purchase

Sorry I'm probably going to ask a daft question now. If T&Cs on that purchase are more basic than statutory rights, where do I stand?
Also which consumer rights apply to the company operating from Ireland?
    Thanks again!

In general if you import something from overseas then the relevant laws are going to be those which apply to wherever the exporter is. So Utah, Ireland, etc. The retailer doesn't need to worry about what the local laws are in every country they ship to.

If you were buying within the UK then (generally) consumer statutory rights apply as a minimum, no matter what the retailer tries to say in their T&Cs.

Where did you buy it from?  Eg. Amazon, PC world, carphone warehouse etc?  Or one of the other mobile phone shops.  Your contract is with them for faulty claims (6 years I think if its inherent).
If its only covered under the warranty, then its with Zagg so it may be Utah etc.  (but don't let the shop try and fob you off if its Consumer rights rather than a warranty claim)

I purchased directly from their website (https://www.zagg.com/).
The Ireland part of the company is Republic.
My receipt says Zagg International - which is the Republic of Ireland part. So is that EU law?
They are selling in £s but don't make it clear if items are shipped from the US or not.

    Hello all,
Please may I have a little more help. I've been in further discussions with Zagg and they have said my purchase was from their Ireland based company. Does this help my case?
    Thanks for any help
