I have booked Ryanair flights to lanzarote from Birmingham which leave this friday,with the government now advising not to travel we are not,  as cannot quarantine when we come back,Ryanair still want to charge for changing the outbound flights to later in the year as their policy states that if the changes to be made are within seven days of the flights they will,obviously i cannot do anything about thus as its a government decision not mine,not happy that they have had over £700 of my hard earned cash and i will have nothing to show for it,also it is nigh on impossible to speak to a representative of theirs,i along with many travellers i would have thought will never book with them again

Most people will still book with them again.  They always do.

Look to your travel insurance which may allow you to claim if you don't want to travel and don't want to change the dates.

Ryanair also didnt sign up for a pandemic either, at the end of the day you were happy enough to book on non refundable terms to begin with.  Either pay to change, or speak to your travel insurers.
