Changing flights on Ryanair

I booked a return flight on Ryanair in July.  It said on the website that any flight changes would be free if changed to a date before the end of the year.
I have made the change from July to October but been charged €90. Anyone else?

    did you make the booking in July? is there a fare difference between the original flights and new flights?

    Move your flight for free to any date before 31 Dec 2020, just pay the fare difference

    This is only applicable to new bookings made after 10 June for travel in July and August and new bookings made after 16 July for September and the fare difference will still be applied, for terms and conditions click here.

    As above, almost certainly you've been charged the fare difference, rather than a rebooking fee.
    No free lunch, and no free laptop ;)

    I booked an August flight on 23 June.  I've tried changing it for later this year but the total always includes a £90 fee, as well as the fare difference.

    It was previously 'change fee' free for rebookings to July and August. I see they've now extended that to September-but you have changed to October, so a fee applies.
    What you could have done was a) waited to see if they cancelled the July flight, and then got a refund. or b) moved it to a holding date in August or September, and hoped that the 'change fee' free period was extended once again. Too late now, as you've rebooked it and paid the fee.

    I booked last week. When I now try to change my flights to cheaper ones, charges are applied. This is despite their guarantee of no fees for flight changes. A quick twitter search has revealed that this is not an uncommon issue.
  • My daughter and family were due to fly to Spain this Friday, of course the Gov, issued advice from Sunday last!  She tooK Ryanair up on their offer to change the flights until later in the year but had to pay more. If you read their T&C’s they state that the free flight change is not available for flights within 7 days of departure! Now I question if this is reasonable of them or even if this is allowed\legal in the circumstances, as no one had a crystal ball last week when this would have had to be done to comply with their terms!

    It does state on their website;
    For all new travel in July, August and September and
    Move your flight for free, just pay fare difference, to any date up to 31st December 2020.
  • Hi there,
    i am the same due to fly out Sun 2nd, only heard about the Quarantine on Sunday, managed to finally get through to a Ryanair agent who confirmed that we could not avail for the free change of flights as we were within the 7 day period before departure, such a joke.   The cost of changing flights is now around £350, I do not want to give them anymore money, yet am loathe to lose the original £800 cost for a family of 4.  Anyone any ideas?

    I am also in the same boat, supposed to be flying out on Friday to the canary islands, but cannot now go and my 3 family members cannot quarantine on our return,so £760 loss and nearly half as much to change them to December not going to throw good money after bad so cutting my losses and vowing never to fly with Ryanair ever again

    It’s such a bad situation as if you did pay to change to December who is to say their won’t be any restrictions and then you have to pay to change again!
