Celotex vs Recticel advice

Hi everyone,

I recently put an order in for a few 50mm celotex insulation boards. The company have emailed me this morning to say they don’t have any in stock but can offer me Recticel which they say has the same thermal properties.
The Recticel is made from polyeurathene and the celotex is polyiso. Are these the same? Will the Recticel do the exact same job and shall I just accept the exchange or should I try and go elsewhere for Celotex?

Polyisocyanurate and polyurethane foam both have the same thermal resistance (0.023 W/mK), so either will do the job. Recticel should be a little cheaper too.

All the rigid board manufacturers are similar in their thermal performances. Although both Celotex and Kingspan are commonly specified, builders will end up obtaining their local equivalent.
