Question regarding 0% Purchase Cards

I'm trying to get my head around 0% Purchase Credit Cards. Because my monthly spending is a bit up and down right now i'm wondering if the following is feasible without me incurring interest charges.
During Month 1 spend £600 on the card, pay £450 off at the end of the month.
During Month 2 spend £300 on my card, bringing outstanding total to £450 and paying that off entirely at the end of Month 2.
I figure if I can use a 0% purchase card in this way to 'smooth out' my outgoings, I could generally have more in my easy access savings.
Is this how these cards work, or am I missing something?
Thanks.

If it's a 0% purchases card, then you would only need to make the minimum payment each month, until the end of the promo period.

What you suggest will avoid interest, but it's not the most efficient way of using the card.

What would be the most efficient use of the card?

Paying the minimum and keeping your money in your savings account earning interest.

If I did that, is there potential for that to impact me applying for a mortgage, which i'm likely to be doing in 4-6 months?

That depends on your wider circumstances and size of deposit.
