Does Section 75 cover season ticket purchases

Does anyone know? I want to renew my season ticket at the football club I support. If that club were to not start the season due to expulsion from the league, would I be able to claim a section 75 refund from my credit card company? (As no games would be played)
This is not in connection to non attendance due to Covid.

Any advice would be appreciated.
Thanks.

Presumably if they were expelled from the league they would be relegated, and therefore still be available to go and watch? Unless they go bust.0

That sounds fair. But I mean if they don’t play, like Bury FC.0

Don't they get expelled to a lower league. So will be playing games?Ju. said:Does anyone know? I want to renew my season ticket at the football club I support. As I say, if so, that wouldn’t be in dispute. But what if they don’t? Using the example of Bury Fc. They still exist but don’t play.born_again said:

Is this likely to happen? On what grounds do you think a football club will no longer be permitted to play any football?0
-
Not that they won’t be permitted. I don’t know the process or at what stage it’s at because the EFL aren’t very forthcoming with info but it’s a possibility that’s being floated. I’m just looking at worst case scenario right now so that I can make a decision.ssparks2003 said:Is this likely to happen? Technically under Section 75 you would be entitled as you payed for a service and didn’t receive it, stretching my football knowledge (my Dad’s the football expert, not me!) I have not heard of any clubs being expelled from football, going bust yes, losing points yes, relegation yes, but never expulsion from football. Football fans/experts please correct me!

Yes, it happened at Bury Fc. They didn’t satisfy the league regulations over many issues and so were expelled in August 2019. They still exist at the moment but don’t play. They’ll no doubt go out of business very soon.GabiB said:Technically under Section 75 you would be entitled as you payed for a service and didn’t receive it, stretching my football knowledge (my Dad’s the football expert, not me!) It does seem a few clubs are on the brink, but if you havent bought a season ticket yet and with no sign of full capacity stadiums for a while , why not just wait until the season starts and fans return1

This might sound stupid, but I really like my seat. Extra leg room and sat there for years. But I do take your point. Gotta weigh it up.photome said:It does seem a few clubs are on the brink, but if you havent bought a season ticket yet and with no sign of full capacity stadiums for a while , why not just wait until the season starts and fans returnThank you0
